BACOLOD City – Police caught six persons in an antidrug operation in Barangay 5, San Carlos City, Negros Occidental but failed to arrest the targets.

Rhona Egonia, Antonio Marabe and Jobert Ocsimar escaped.

Arrested were Jeven Catinggan, 28, of Jimalalud, Negros Oriental; Reynald Pedreke Apostol, 24, of Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City; and Alfredo Ocsimar, 55, Jordan Ferrer, 40, Joselito Jaluag, 29, and Emiluna Jaluag, 28, all of Barangay 5, San Carlos City.

They will be charged with visiting a drug den, police said.

Targets Egonia, Marabe and Ocsimar fled via a “secret passage” at the back of the house around 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 6, said the police.

Police seized 3 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated cost of P30,000, drug paraphernalia and P200 cash.

About two hours later, a 34-year-old man whom patrolling police officers spotted acting “suspiciously” was arrested in Purok Sampaguita, Barangay Binicuil, Kabankalan City.

Lino Sablaon, 34, of Sitio Naga, Barangay Binicuil put something on the roof of a nipa hut. Police said they found out it was an improvised tooter, a tool used in sniffing illegal drugs./PN
