ILOILO City – Accused of using fine nets, six fishers were arrested at the coast of Barangay Poblacion, Banate, Iloilo, a police report showed.
The following were detained at the Banate police station’s custodial facility:
* Marlon Alpasan, 32, of Isla de Gigantes, Carles town
* Arturo Delicana, 41, of Barangay Salvacion, Banate
* Lucas Tejano, 39, Barangay Tiglawigan, Cadiz City, Negros Occidental
* Rolando Romero, 40, of Barangay Sipaon, Estancia
* Ray Cordero, 33, of Barangay San Juan, Estancia
* Arthur Delicana, 20, of Barangay San Salvador, Banate
They were facing illegal fishing charges.
Police caught them on board MB DC at around 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 31.
Their fishing boat was impounded and their harvest and fine nets were seized./PN
