MANILA – An explosive triple-header are set to take place as the 2017 Chooks To Go – Philippine Superliga Grand Prix had its rare Spike on Tour today at the University of St. La Salle Gym in Bacolod City.
Set to square off at 2 p.m. are Foton Tornadoes and Generika-Ayala Life Savers to be followed by Cocolife Asset Managers vs Cignal HD Spikers at 4 p.m. Petron Blaze Spikers and F2 Logistics Cargo Movers at 6 pm.
Expect to draw attention are Negrenses Bernadeth Pons and April Ross Hingpit from the Blaze Spikers, Patty Jane Orendain and Genevieve Casugod of the Life Savers, Fritz Gallenero of the Cargo Movers, and Dancel Dusaran from the Asset Managers.
Also crowd drawers are players from nearby islands such as Ilonggas Abigail Marano and Aduke Ogunsaya of the Cargo Movers, Fiola Ceballos and Ma. Shaya Adorador of Life Savers, Nerissa Bautista of Asset Managers, Jovelyn Gonzaga of the HD Spikers, and Aiza Maizo-Pontillas of the Blaze Spikers.
“Bringing the Superliga to our city means a lot to our local fans,” said Bacolod City’s Rep. Greg Gasataya. “This is an opportunity for us to showcase Bacolod City not just the sugar source of the Philippines, but also to show how much we support the sport.”
Prior to today’s game, the PSL stars have already conducted volleyball clinics at the St. John’s Institute and Pontevedra town Thursday and Friday last week, while a meet-and-greet was also held at SM City Bacolod last night.
VIP tickets are already sold out while tickets at the bleachers worth P300 are still up for grabs at the entrance of USLS Gym and at the SM Ticketnet outlets and I-Mart stores./PN
