CAPIZ – Six individuals were arrested by the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) in this province for alleged involvement in an investment scam.
The suspects identified as Andres Agrasada of Barangay Dayao, Roxas City; Nancy Biare Ricaforte of Barangay Tanque, Roxas City; Dexter Pari-an Genon; couple Neressa and Rene Nobleza; and Andy Halili Antivola were caught in an entrapment operation at a hotel in Pueblo de Panay, Barangay Lawaan, Roxas City on August 10.
They are now in the custody of NBI Capiz and have been charged with large scale estafa.
NBI Capiz said no bail was recommended for their temporary release.
According to the investigation of the NBI, three groups engaged in double-your-money scheme HYBRID FX managed to collect over P3 million from 35 Capiz residents within three days.
Ryan Landoing alias “William Uy”, the suspected leader and owner of RGS FX Money Investment allegedly based in Bacolod City, remained at large as of this writing, the NBI said.
The NBI added that majority of the victims were businessmen and professionals who invested money ranging from P4,000 to P200,000, who were lured by promises of doubling their money within 15 days./PN
