BACOLOD City – A village official of Barangay Cabug was one of the seven suspects arrested in a buy-bust operation of the police in Victorina Subdivision, Barangay Mansilingan yesterday.

Chief Inspector Charles Gever, Police Station 7 commander, identified the official as Von Carlo De Paula, councilman of Barangay Cabug.

De Paula, however, was not the subject of the operation but Josan Sotengco of Providencia Subdivision in Barangay Alijis.

Sotengco was arrested. The five others caught were:

* Renato Untal Nicor of Florenceville in Barangay Tangub

* Jury Reyes Casiano of Purok Pag-asa, Barangay Alijis

* Dindo Masela Crespe, 37, of Purok Banaue, Barangay Villamonte

* Robert Bacaro Asero of Barangay Poblacion, San Enrique, Negros Occidental, and

* John Mark Amodia.

Gever said they placed Sotengco under two weeks of surveillance.

Five sachets of suspected shabu weighing more or less more a gram and with a market value of P13,000 were confiscated from the suspects.

The suspects were detained at Police station 7 and charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
