7 nabbed for guns, ‘illegal gambling’

ILOILO – Seven carnival workers were arrested in Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, Calinog town around 8:20 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 19.

Joint elements of the Regional Intelligence Division (RID) 6 led by Police Colonel Reynate Panay; Calinog police station under Police Major Dadje Dilema, and Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company (IPMFC) carried out the operation.

The suspects were Rey Ginturo, Anthony Labordo, Rodolfo Sumintao Jr.,

Randy Tomesa, Ralph Xander Camarista, Romer Cordero, and Niño Galagate.

They were allegedly operating a carnival without the necessary permit.

Cops also recovered from the suspects unlicensed .9mm and .45 guns, P3,500 bet money and gambling paraphernalia.

The suspects were taken to the Calinog police station. They face charges for illegal gambling and violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act)./PN
