ILOILO City – Policemen of Dumangas, Iloilo are looking for two men suspected of killing their septuagenarian mother’s lover.
Rey and Silverio Lilam disappeared from Barangay Pagdugi, Dumangas after the death of 54-year-old Marvin Coballo on Saturday.
Coballo was a lover of the Lilam brothers’ 70-year-old mother Elsa, according to Chief Inspector Rene Obregon, Dumangas police chief.
Coballo was a native of Binalbagan, Negros Occidental but temporarily residing in Barangay Rosario, Dumangas.
From what the Dumangas police so far gathered, Coballo was on his way to the Lilams’ house to visit Elsa when he chanced upon Rey and Silverio on the road.
There was a heated argument between Coballo and the Lilam brothers, said Obregon.
A knife and hammer were used on Coballo.
Rey owned the knife while Silverio the hammer, said Obregon.
Coballo died of eight stab wounds and severe head injuries.
“Elsa warned Coballo not to visit her but he was insistent, he wanted to talk to the Lilam brothers,” said Obregon.
As of this writing, the whereabouts of Rey and Silverio remain unknown./PN
