ILOILO City – Another village chief in Ajuy, Iloilo turned over unlicensed firearms to the municipal police.
Luca barangay captain Rexis Palec went to the police station around 8 a.m. yesterday to surrender a .38 revolver and a 12-gauge shotgun.
According to Palec, the firearms were left along the road. He had no idea who owned them, he told the police.
Just last week, two barangay captains turned over to the station three homemade firearms supposedly left by their owners.
Willy Bacud of Barangay Progreso surrendered a .38 revolver while Nida Tarrazona of Barangay Santo Rosario turned over two 12-gauge shotguns.
As a result of their campaign against loose guns, Ajuy police said they were currently in custody of more than a hundred unlicensed firearms, including those seized in operations or voluntarily turned over to the station./PN
