BACOLOD City – Assistant Secretary Amuerfina Reyes of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) attended the Summit for Empowerment of Women and the Grassroots Community as a guest speaker yesterday in Murcia, Negros Occidental.

“The DOLE does not only regulate labor companies, we are also providing programs that empower women and the marginalized sectors,” Reyes said during the program at the town’s covered gym.

The summit – organized by the local government of Murcia – highlighted the Margna Carta for Women and socio-economic development programs for communities.

“I am here to inform the people on the services we offer, especially community livelihood programs,” Reyes said.

Members of the PRO Federal Movement Philippines in Negros Occidental composed of farmers, fisherfolk, indigents, women and youth attended the summit./PN
