ILOILO City – Illegal gambling charges may be filed against a resident of Barangay Bunca, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo.
Aljon Dela Peña, 26, was caught collecting bets for “bookies” in Barangay Belen, Banate, a police report showed.
A bundle of cotejos (betting stubs) and P1,740 cash were seized from him.
Dela Peña was detained at the Banate police station after his arrest around 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 7.
He was facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9287, which amended Presidential Decree 1602 to increase penalties for illegal numbers games./PN
