BACOLOD City – For illegal possession of firearms, police arrested two men in Barangay Tangub.
Officers from Police Station 8 – led by Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman – caught the 22-year-old Isiaih Mendoza of Barangay Handumanan and Ronel Baldonado of Barangay Felisa on Tuesday, a police report showed.
Mendoza and Baldonado were walking along Araneta Street when the police on patrol apprehended them, the report further stated.
Police said Mendoza and Baldonado attempted to escape but failed.
Recovered from them were two improvised firearms and ammunition.
Mendoza and Baldonado were detained at the Police Station 8 lockup facility and facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
