ILOILO City – A resident of Barangay Gustilo, La Paz was accused of hurting his relatives in Barangay Baldoza.

Police arrested Ervin Demontaño, 34, in his house at around 9 p.m. on Saturday. He was detained at the district police station’s custodial facility.

His mother-in-law Nenita Lagunday, 72, and her nephew Noli Arbacan, 50, told the police Demontaño attacked them at around 6:20 p.m. that day.

Lagunday said she reprimanded Demontaño for throwing an empty bottle at his own daughter, a police report showed.

Demontaño, who was believed drunk, went berserk and punched Arbacan on the nape.

He also struck Lagunday on the chest and hurled at her a plastic pitcher that hit her on the head, stated the police report.

Lagunday complained of chest pain while Arbacan sustained a bruise on the nape.

Police referred them to the West Visayas State University Medical Center in Jaro./PN
