BACOLOD City – Police caught a student with a gun in the public plaza in La Castellana, Negros Occidental around 1:30 a.m. yesterday.
The 19-year-old Rodgemar Marcelo of Sitio Mandayao 4, Barangay Camandang, La Castellana was detained at the municipal police station’s lockup facility.
La Castellana police were patrolling the public plaza during a Christmas lights-on ceremony when they caught Marcelo wielding a .38-caliber revolver without serial number loaded with five live bullets.
Marcelo is facing charges for violation of Republic Act 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearm and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
