ILOILO City – A .38 revolver was seized from a 43-year-old man yesterday in Barangay Loboc, Lapuz district.

Ires Lerdon of Barangay Rizal, Jordan, Guimaras was arrested.

He failed to show pertinent documents proving his legal ownership of the weapon, police said.

Officers caught him wielding the revolver at around 12:20 a.m., a police report showed.

It was not immediately clear what Lerdon was doing in Lapuz at the time.

Police said Lerdon told them he drew his firearm out when he sensed that a group of people might attack him.

Lerdon was detained at the La Paz police station custodial facility.

He may be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./PN
