BACOLOD City – Who were the four suspects in shooting a man to death in the hinterland barangay in Cadiz City, Negros Occidental? Police have yet to confirm.

The 49-year-old Jonathan Monares died of gunshot wounds on the different parts of the body, a police report showed.

The shooting happened around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday in Barangay VF Gustilo, Cadiz City.

Village chief Analiza Legaspi reported to the Cadiz City police who responded to the area.

From what the police gathered so far, the suspects fled the area after shooting Monares who was walking with his wife Judy and their 14-year-old child.

Judy told the police that she recognized one of the gunmen as a certain “Barbon,” whom she said was a member of the Revolutionary Proletarian Army-Alex Boncayao Brigade.

Police have yet to verify this, though. Investigation was still ongoing./PN
