ILOILO City – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 6 is hiring agents.

“Committed” and “highly qualified professionals” who wanted to be in the frontline of the war on drugs are welcome, the agency said.

Around 100 additional agents will be assigned in provinces across Western Visayas and the regional office in this city, said Regional Director Wardley Getalla.

“We prefer Iloilo natives. At least they are familiar with the place,” said Getalla.

Getalla said the PDEA needs to hire around 500 agents across the country this year.

“The chosen applicants will become part of the country’s premier organization in antidrug law enforcement,” he stressed.

Five hundred agents have been taken in last year. The recruits were currently undergoing training, Getalla said.

Applicants must be between 21 and 35 years old, at least 5 feet tall for females and 5 feet and 2 inches for males.

Aside from having bachelor’s degree, they must also be career service eligible (professional), a passer of any licensure examination or qualified to the civil service under special laws, said Getalla.

Application requirements include an original copy of personal data sheet (CSC Form No. 212) and photo copies of Philippine Statistics Authority-issued birth certificate, transcript of records, college diploma, and certification of eligibility.
