ILOILO City – Six plastic packs of suspected shabu were seized during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Pakiad, Oton, Iloilo.

The operation at around 9 p.m. on Saturday led to the arrest of the 20-year-old Mark Anthony Niar of Barangay San Jose, Arevalo district, a police report showed.

The Oton police station took Niar in custody. The suspect faces charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Niar yielded five sachets of suspected shabu on top of the one he sold to a poseur buyer, the police report stated.

Operatives further seized from him P5,000 cash, including the buy-bust money; a black leather wallet; a school identification card; a driver’s license; and a cellphone.

Officers from the Oton police station, the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Region 6 staged the operation./PN
