ILOILO City – A construction worker has been charged with committing violence against a woman or her child, a police report showed.
Officers have arrested Severo Olid, a 31-year-old construction worker from Barangay Agbalogo, Makato, Aklan.
Olid was accused of violating Section 5 (a) of Republic Act 9262, or the Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children Act of 2004 (Causing physical harm to the woman or her child).
The police report did not state the circumstances surrounding the charge.
Officers served Olid a warrant of arrest at around 2:50 p.m. on Jan. 27 in Barangay Poblacion, Makato.
The municipal police took Olid in custody. His bail bond has been fixed at P6,000, the police report stated./PN
