BACOLOD City – Depression was believed to have led a man to commit suicide in Charito Heights, Barangay Granada.

The 28-year-old resident Ryan Ereje was suffering from major depressive disorder, according to investigators.

Ereje’s brother found him hanging in their house with a telephone wire tied around his neck around 1:30 p.m. on Friday, a police report showed.

Ereje was an overseas worker in Japan. He was sent back by his agency in October last year due to his mental condition, his family said.

The family did not request for a post-mortem examination on Ereje’s body.

Police said the family was convinced that Ereje committed suicide./PN
