BACOLOD City – Police raided a house in Sitio Carolina, Barangay 2, La Carlota City, Negros Occidental, leading to the arrest of a drug surrenderee.
La Carlota City police head Chief Inspector Romeo Vargas identified the “Oplan Tokhang” surrenderee as the 34-year-old resident Joan Conelas.
Conelas was nabbed around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday in the house raid conducted on the strength of a search warrant that Judge Cyclamen Jison-Fernandez of the Regional Trial Court Branch 63 in La Carlota City issued on Aug. 20, a police report showed.
Confiscated from Conelas’ possession were seven sachets of suspected shabu worth around P3,500, drug paraphernalia and P300 marked money.
Conelas was detained in the lockup cell of the La Carlota City police station, facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
