ILOILO City – A 34-year-old man landed in a hospital after he was hacked on New Year’s Eve in Maspasan, Calinog, Iloilo.
Resident Den Mark Dumali was recuperating at the Calinog District Hospital. He sustained hack wounds on the body, a police report showed.
The 61-year-old Jose Nelson Denedicto – also a resident of the village – was tagged suspec, it added.
According to police investigators, Dumali was having a house party with his family when Denedicto – who was believed to be inebriated – arrived and attack the former using a bolo around 10:30 p.m. This prompted Dumali to retaliate by hitting Denedicto on the head using a hard object.
The suspect suffered injuries on the head and was brought to the same hospital for medical treatment. Charges will be filed against him./PN
