2 grass fires on Easter Sunday

ILOILO City – On Easter Sunday, two separate fire incidents swept through in this city and in the municipality of Pavia, Iloilo.

Before dawn yesterday, residents in Barangay Q. Abeto, Mandurriao district were awakened by a grass fire at a vacant lot around 1:50 p.m. A “fire out” was declared an hour later.

In Barangay Ungka 1, Pavia, a vacant lot also went up in smoke.

Personnel of the municipal fire station said they received a fire call at around 1 p.m.

Firefighters put the blaze under control by 1:30p.m. and declared a “fire out” 30 minutes after.

According to initial assessment from the Bureau of Fire Protection, no one was injured in the two fire incidents. No damage to property was recorded, too./PN
