ROXAS City – Two persons charged with large-scale illegal recruitment were arrested in Sitio Pangpang, Barangay Bolo here.
Amelita Andrade was 53 years old while Colt Jefferson Berdugo was 35. They were taken to the Roxas City police station.
The suspects’ arrest warrant was served by the combined elements of the Roxas City police station, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-Capiz, 602nd Maritime Station, and 1st Capiz Provincial Mobile Force Company Friday last week.
The warrant of arrest for syndicated and large-scale illegal recruitment – a violation under Republic Act 8042 or the Migrant Workers Act of 1995 – was issued by Presiding Judge Alma Banias-Delfin of the Regional Trial Court, Branch 15 on Oct. 27, 2020.
The court recommended no bail bond for the suspects./PN
