KALIBO, Aklan – “Fake news”. This was how Gov. Florencio Miraflores described reports that he was supposedly ordered dismissed by the Office of the Ombudsman in relation to the unexplained wealth case filed against him and wife Ma. Lourdes, the former mayor of Ibajay town.
According to Miraflores , the charge – for serious dishonesty and grave misconduct – was dismissed way back in 2016 yet.
The Court of Appeals ruled that there was no strong evidence, he stressed.
Miraflores believed the “fake news” on his supposed dismissal was being resurrected by his political enemies, although he did not name names.
The governor said he would take the appropriate steps against those spreading “fake news” against him./PN
