BACOLOD City – Police arrested a suspected drug peddler in a sting operation in Barangay Suay, Himamaylan City, Negros Occidental.
Police Major Romeo Vargas, Himamaylan City police chief, identified him as Joven Ramos, 46, a resident of the village.
According to Vargas, an undercover officer initially bought from Ramos a sachet of suspected illegal drugs for P500.
Four more sachets of the prohibited substance valued at around P87,500 were seized after Ramos’ arrest around 4 p.m. on Nov. 5, police said.
The suspect was detained in the lockup cell of the Himamaylan City police station. Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against him./PN
