ILOILO City – Four persons were wounded in a hacking incident in Barangay Tapi-an, Batad, Iloilo.
Police identified them as Francisco Legaspi, 61, his two sons, Gino, 31; Jeffrey, 27; and their relative, Mary Joy Legaspi, 32.
Tagged suspects were Jeofrey Andeo, 27; Jimmy Andeo Sr., 51; his son, Jimmy Jr.; and a certain “Boy-boy,” 17.
From what the police gathered so far, the Andeos were having a drinking binge outside of their house and became rowdy.
The Legaspis confronted the suspects and told them to stop. They claimed the suspects were causing disturbance.
Suspects got irked and attacked the Legaspis around 10:40 p.m. on Nov. 27.
Francisco and Gino were admitted at the Jesus Colmenares District Hospital in the town. Mary Joy and Jeffrey, on the other hand, were later discharged after receiving treatment.
Officers of the municipal police station were able to arrest the suspects. They took them in custody for filing of appropriate charges./PN
