ILOILO City – Four persons were caught engaging in illegal gambling in Barangay Bitoon, Jaro district. Police identified them as Bernadeth Delandao, 18; Gilnie Elocar, 29; Rosalinda Rublico, 58; and Cecile Lim, 40 – all residents of Barangay Lanit, Jaro.
The suspects were caught around 5 p.m. on Dec. 9 when police chanced upon them playing mahjong.
Recovered from their possession were a mahjong set and P430 bet money.
The four were taken to the Jaro police station, facing charges for violating Presidential Decree 1602 that outlaws illegal gambling./PN
