ILOILO – A guard at the Gov. Niel D. Tupas Sr. District Hospital in Barotac Viejo allegedly shot himself dead yesterday.
Twenty-two-year-old Charles Jay Centillas, a resident of the town, died of a gunshot wound to the head, police said.
Initial investigation showed that the victim was on duty around 7:20 a.m. He reportedly went inside a vacant room and shot himself using a .9mm-caliber pistol. The gun was recovered beside him.
Reports also revealed that the victim had been suffering from depression after his live-in partner left him.
