ILOILO City – Three persons were arrested in Barangay Dungon C, Mandurriao district.
According to the police, Mario Alpuerto, Ronel Figueroa and Willer Peranja, all residents of the village, were playing tong-its around 3:56 p.m. on July 14.
A set of playing cards and P375 bet money were recovered, a police report showed.
The suspects were detained at the Mandurriao police station. They would be charged with violation of Presidential Decree 1602 that prescribes stiffer penalties on illegal gambling./PN
