ILOILO City – A young man who recently graduated from the Alternative Learning System got drowned in the waters off the coastal barangay of Banban in Batad, Iloilo.
Police identified the fatality as Leonel Parreño of the town’s Barangay Cabagohan.
The drowning happened around 5:40 p.m. on Aug. 11. Parreño was swimming with friends.
He just disappeared, friends told the police.
A search and rescue operation was launched. Parreño’s body was found 30 minutes later./PN
