SAN JOSE, Antique – The Bio-Molecular Laboratory located in Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital (ASMGH) in San Jose, Antique is temporarily closed to accommodate its preventive maintenance and machine calibration on Monday, January 24, 2022.
The advisory was released by Pathologist, Dr. Charmaine S. Templonuevo-Flores and ASMGH Officer-in-charge Dr. Jose Lyndon A. Perez to inform the public that the said laboratory will be closed temporarily for its preventive maintenance due to the high volume of the specimen to be processed.
“The Antique Bio-Molecular Laboratory at Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital will be closed this upcoming Monday, January 24, 2022. Due to the increased number of the specimen being processed and tested, the PCR- the machine has been scheduled for a preventive maintenance and machine recalibration this Monday,” said Flores and Perez in the official statement released to the public.
The Antique Bio-Molecular Laboratory will issue another advisory when the maintenance and equipment upgrades will be completed so that the general public will be aware when it will resume its operation again.
In the meantime, the specimen that will be collected in 18 towns in the province of Antique will be forwarded to Western Visayas Medical Center-Sub National Laboratory in Mandurriao district in Iloilo City.
“The AMBL will release another advisory once equipment maintenance has been completed and laboratory can be resumed. Meanwhile, all samples for RT-PCR testing shall be en-route to WVMC-SNL,” included in the statement.
As of Sunday, January 23, the province of Antique has 1,112 active cases of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
