ANTIQUE – Having a family member incarcerated significantly hampers the entire household’s earning capacity.

The Antique provincial government, through its Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), provided P5,000 cash assistance to the families of 52 persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) at the Culasi District Jail in Culasi town.

On Sept. 21, Gov. Rhodora Cadiao, together with PSWDO head Lazaro Petinglay, visited the Culasi District Jail and lead the cash assistance distribution under PSWDO’s Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situations (AICS) program.

Jail Inspector Josue Ma R. Estorque, jail warden, thanked the provincial government.

On Sept. 19, Cadiao also distributed P5,000 cash assistance to each family of the 186 PDLs at the Antique Rehabilitation Center in San Jose town.

On Sept. 26, the families of 133 PDLs from the Bureau of Jail Management and
Penology – San Jose will receive cash assistance, too./PN
