BACOLOD City – Seven persons were apprehended by the police for alleged illegal cockfighting in Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
Cops also seized 12 fighting cocks, P500 in bet money and two gaffs around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 18.
The suspects were Alexander Carmelino, 49; Julius Avellana, 49; Ristitoto Jabagat, 64; Johnrey Villarin, 33; Federico Nario, 54; Mikemar Fuentes, 29; and Dionisio Castel, 80. All were residents of Barangay Oringao, Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental.
Police said charges for violation of Presidential Decree 449 that prohibits illegal cockfighting will be filed against the suspects./PN
