BACOLOD City –Negros Occidental inaugurated its first government-run Animal Learning Park and Hospital during the opening of the Panaad sa Negros Festival 2023 on Monday, April 17.
Its laboratory is equipped with an ELISA machine and reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) capabilities that could detect avian influenza, or bird flu, as well as African swine fever.
“Na testingan ko na dira, gin padala ko ang akon ido, nag-ayo gid… so I can guarantee you, bakod gid ang aton mga [veterinarians],” said Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz.
Meanwhile, Provincial Veterinary Officer Dr. Placeda Lemana said the new facility is now open to the public.
It is offering affordable services for raisers and pet owners and would also be used for veterinary studies.
The facility is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is located inside the Panaad Park and Stadium in Barangay Mansilingan, Bacolod City./PN
