JUDY ANN Santos has voiced her support for any person’s decision to undergo cosmetic enhancement, explaining that it is a personal choice and is something that she is never against.
Santos, who was recently tapped as the new endorser of a beauty brand, admitted that she herself had considered going under the knife but that she was “scared of the procedures,” adding that she respects those who proceed with it.
“I’m never against it. I respect anyone who wants to go under the knife because that’s them. That’s what will make them feel confident and happy. It’s a decision that only they should face,” she told select reporters during her endorsement reveal on Tuesday, July 15.
“I also don’t rule out the possibility that maybe in the future I will decide to have enhancements as well, but I don’t think I can bear the surgeries, probably non-surgical options like laser or injections,” the actress continued.
Cosmetic enhancements have been a hot topic on social media lately following veteran actress Dina Bonnevie’s statement that candidly addressed the growing trend of cosmetic surgeries among young stars, as she observed that many of today’s faces in show biz are starting to look “too alike.”
Meanwhile, Santos, who said she never expected to be endorsing a beauty brand this late in her career, shared that she is not one to be bothered by aging as she has learned to embrace it with honesty and grace.
“I was never bothered by aging. Actually, I’m excited to get older. Probably because I’m eager for the wisdom that I will continue to earn, and to grow old with my children and husband. Aging is something that I think we all should look forward to because it will happen; it’s inevitable,” she said.
“Positive aging for me is accepting your falls, your mistakes, and just doing the best you can to shift gears in whatever phase of life. I find ways to be optimistic because, for me, it’s something you cannot control,” she added.
When asked how she deals with bashers who specifically target others’ physical appearances, the award-winning actress emphasized that she doesn’t have the energy to engage with negative comments, something that she tries to instill in her children.
“People will always find ways to hurt you, to see your faults, especially if they don’t really know you. So I don’t have the energy to take those negative comments. My realization was if they made an effort to bash me, it means they watch my films, so thank you. I don’t need to fight them with fangs and all that. I just kill them with kindness.
