ILOILO – A buy-bust operation conducted by the Pototan Municipal Police Station (MPS) in the town’s Barangay Dapitan resulted in the seizure of over P1 million worth of suspected shabu, a firearm and ammunition.
Officers of the Pototan MPS’ Station Drug Enforcement Team arrested alias “Joe”, 37, a resident of Pototan, around 12:26 p.m. on Thursday, August 7. He was tagged as a high-value target.
Recovered during the operation were 22 transparent plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing around 230 grams and with a standard drug price of P1,564,000; buy-bust money; one break-in type homemade caliber .45 pistol; and three rounds of caliber .45 live ammunition.
The suspect was detained at the Pototan MPS, facing charges for violation of Republic Act (RA) 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and RA 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearms).
Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) director Brigadier General Josefino Ligan lauded the operatives of Pototan MPS for the success of the said operation.
“We commend the personnel of Pototan MPS for their unwavering dedication in combating the menace of illegal drugs in the region.
