Two flower vendors fall in Jaro drug bust

ILOILO City – Two flower vendors were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation in Zone III, Barangay San Pedro, Jaro district, leading to the confiscation of around P408,000 million worth of suspected shabu.

Authorities identified the suspects as aliases “Andi”, 59, and “Negra”, 45, both single and residents of the said barangay.

Joint elements of the Iloilo City Police Office’s City Drug Enforcement Unit, Iloilo City Police Station 9’s (ICPS9) Special Drug Enforcement Team, and Philippine National Police Drug Enforcement Group – Special Operations Unit 6 carried out the operation at around 6:03 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19.

Confiscated were 12 plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 60 grams, buy-bust money, and non-drug-related items.

The suspects are now under the custody of ICPS9. They are facing charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002)./PN
