BACOLOD City – A driver and his backrider died in a tragic accident on Wednesday morning, September 10, along BS Aquino Drive in this city.
Major Elmer Bonilla, head of the Bacolod City Police Office’s Traffic Enforcement Unit, identified the victims as John Denz Casuyon, 21, of Purok Mahogany, Barangay Handumanan, and Jhon Wennel Dingcong of Purok Totong 1, Barangay Felisa.
Both victims died on the spot after sustaining severe head injuries, authorities said.
According to security guard Alex Baylo, who witnessed the incident, the victims came from the direction of Bangga Ramos and were speeding when Casuyon lost control of the motorcycle and rammed into the center island at around 4 a.m.
Baylo added that neither of the victims was wearing a helmet.
As of this writing, police were still verifying reports that the victims may have come from a drinking session before the incident./PN
