NEGROS Occidental – Two men were killed while another was seriously injured in a head-on motorcycle collision along the provincial road in Hacienda Alipion, Barangay Lalagsan, La Castellana town, on Sunday, November 30.
La Castellana police said the incident occurred around 1:20 a.m. when a RUSI TC125 motorcycle driven by alias “Yong-yong”, with alias “Itsoy” as his back rider, was traveling from Isabela town toward the La Castellana town proper.
It was hit head-on by a Kawasaki Fury 125 motorcycle driven by alias “Cente,” 46, a public school teacher from Isabela, who was heading in the opposite direction, police said.
Initial investigation revealed that Yong-yong, who was allegedly inebriated, veered into the opposite lane and crashed into Cente’s oncoming motorcycle.
Responders from the La Castellana Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) rushed the victims to the Rural Health Unit. Both drivers — Yong-yong and Cente — were declared dead on arrival by the attending physician.
Itsoy, who sustained severe injuries, was later transferred to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Hospital in Bacolod City. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
