BACOLOD City — The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), in coordination with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), conducted a seven-day Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) Level Training on December 16–19 and 20–22 at the Middle Town Inn here.
According to the BCPO, personnel from the three agencies participated in the activity, which aimed to strengthen inter-agency coordination and enhance operational readiness in responding to hazardous materials incidents.
Participants underwent a series of lectures, discussions, and practical exercises designed to equip them with essential knowledge and skills for the safe, timely, and effective handling of HAZMAT-related emergencies.
The training plays a vital role in enhancing the capability of first responders to manage incidents that pose risks to public safety, health, and the environment, the BCPO said.
The initiative highlights the continued commitment of the BCPO and its partner agencies to strengthening disaster preparedness and ensuring the safety and security of Bacolod residents, particularly in situations involving hazardous materials./PN
