ILOILO City – The Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO) reported that it has seized P166 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 515 suspects across the province in 2025.
Data from the IPPO showed that from January 2025 to December 2025, various police stations conducted a total of 371 antidrug operations that resulted to the confiscation of around 24,488.84 grams of illegal drugs.
Cases for violation of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, have also been filed in courts to ensure the aforementioned offenders face the full force of the law.
In its campaign against fugitives, the IPPO apprehended 287 most wanted persons and 685 others tagged as other wanted persons or those accused of lesser offenses.
Also, 698 loose firearms were confiscated: 140 recovered during police operations, 339 were voluntarily surrendered, and 129 were deposited for safekeeping.
Meanwhile, Iloilo cops’ intensified efforts against illegal gambling led to the arrest of 219 suspects and the confiscation of 69,000 in bet money.
To protect the environment and preserve the marine resources of the province, the IPPO continued its vigilance through intensified operations against illegal fishing. Authorities collared 654 individuals, impounded 376 fishing vessels, and seized P493,370 worth of assorted fish from 203 operations.
For illegal quarry, a total of 188 successful operations were executed which resulted to the apprehension of 221 suspects and the impounding of 219 vehicles.
IPPO director Colonel Bayani Razalan commended the men and women of the IPPO for their dedication to duty throughout 2025.
He also expressed his sincere gratitude for the trust and support of Iloilo local leaders, especially Gov. Arthur Defensor Jr., and the Ilonggo community.
