Despite being considered a young heartthrob, Andres Muhlach admitted that he has never had a girlfriend and it was a “personal decision.”
Muhlach made his first guest appearance on “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” on Wednesday, Feb. 4, where he was asked about having a girlfriend.
“Hindi pa, Tito Boy. That’s my choice naman,” he said. “Kasi right now, with the way everything has happened, mas lalo with work and everything, parang I’ve been so busy these last few years.”
Despite having no experience with a girlfriend, Muhlach admitted that he had at least tried to court someone before.
Andres was then asked if his parents, award-winning actor Aga Muhlach and Binibining Pilipinas-Universe 1994 Charlene Gonzales, “interfere” with the matters of the heart involving him and his twin sister, Atasha Muhlach.
“Oo naman. Of course, they give us advice about love life, but they are never controlling about it,” he said.
lAndres admitted that he has never brought home a girl before, and if ever he did, it would be a sign that he’s serious about her.
Andres signed a contract with Viva Artists Agency in August 2024 and then went on to star in his first sitcom, “Da Pers Family,” alongside his family. He then landed the role of Mark Keifer Watson in the series adaptation of “Ang Mutya ng Seksyon E,” opposite Ashtine Olviga.
Andres and Olviga’s on-screen partnership led them to widespread popularity. The pair reunited in the second season of “Ang Mutya ng Seksyon E” and their first film, “Minamahal: 100 Bulaklak para kay Luna.”
The 24-year-old actor recently made his musical debut in the adaptation of the 1984 film “Bagets” as Adie, a role originally played by his father, which propelled him to matinee idol status.
“Bagets: The Musical” currently runs at Newport Performing Arts Theater until March. (Jessica Ann Evangelista © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
