High-value suspect nabbed in Bacolod; P1.4-M ‘shabu’ seized

BACOLOD City — A 24-year-old man, tagged by authorities as a high-value target, was arrested following a buy-bust operation that yielded over P1.4 million worth of suspected shabu in Barangay Banago here on Wednesday, March 25.

The suspect, identified only as alias “Boss,” was apprehended at around 12:33 p.m. in Purok Paraiso by operatives of the Bacolod City Police Office’s City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Albert H. Sy, with support from the City Intelligence Unit (CIU) and Police Station 3. Boss allegedly sold one heat-sealed plastic sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer in exchange for P1,000 in marked money.

A subsequent search of the suspect led to the recovery of six additional plastic sachets and two knot-tied plastic bags containing suspected shabu weighing around 210 grams, with an estimated street value of P1,428,000.

Also recovered were the buy-bust money and non-drug-related items.

The suspect was brought to Police Station 3 for documentation. The confiscated evidence will be submitted to the Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination. Authorities confirmed that the inventory was conducted in strict accordance with Section 21 of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
