BACOLOD City — A late-night drinking session ended in tragedy at Crossing Paet, Barangay I-A in Manapla, Negros Occidental, leaving one man dead and another injured following a violent confrontation over the weekend.
The victim, identified only by the alias “Jun,” 33, succumbed to multiple stab wounds. The suspect was identified as alias “Wewin,” 28.
According to the Manapla Municipal Police Station (MPS), the incident occurred at approximately 11:10 p.m. on Saturday, April 25.
Initial investigation revealed that both men were under the influence of alcohol when a heated argument broke out, which quickly escalated into a fistfight. The two were initially pacified and sent to their respective homes.
The suspect, however, later went to the victim’s residence armed with a bladed weapon, triggering a second confrontation. During the encounter, the victim sustained fatal wounds, while the suspect also suffered injuries.
Both individuals were rushed to Saint Anne Hospital in Cadiz City, where the attending physician declared Jun dead on arrival. (Watchmen Daily Journal)/PN
