ILOILO City — A 33-year-old tricycle driver was arrested on Saturday, April 25, during a drug buy-bust operation in Barangay Naslo, Pototan, Iloilo.
Pototan police said alias “Negro,” a resident of the area, was taken into custody at around 5:15 p.m. after he was allegedly caught selling and in possession of 180 grams of suspected shabu worth approximately P1,224,000.
The operation was executed by the Iloilo Police Provincial Office’s (IPPO) Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) Team 2 after receiving a tip from a concerned citizen. Following two weeks of intensive validation and monitoring, the police apprehended the suspect.
IPPO director Colonel Bayani Razalan commended his men for the successful operation and the arrest of a high-value suspect. He emphasized that the provincial police remain committed to intensifying the campaign against illegal drugs across Iloilo.
“Congratulations sa aton PDEU sa madinalag-on nga operasyon kontra iligal nga droga… Ini ang pamatuod nga ang inyo mga kapulisan ang padayon sa pag-monitor sa mga indibidwal nga nagaduso sang iligal nga droga diri sa probinsya.
