
ILOILO City — A high-value individual was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 (RPDEU 6) along E. Lopez Street in Barangay Montinola, Jaro district.
The suspect, identified only as alias “Tol,” 33, a call center agent and resident of Jaro, was caught after allegedly selling illegal drugs to a police poseur-buyer at around 10:04 p.m. on April 24.
Seized from his possession were six plastic sachets containing suspected shabu weighing approximately 165 grams, with a standard drug price of P1,122,000, along with the marked buy-bust money and other non-drug-related items.
The operation was carried out with the support of the Regional Intelligence Division 6, Police Drug Enforcement Group Special Operations Unit 6, and Iloilo City Police Station 9.
Police Regional Office 6 director Brigadier Gen. Josefino D. Ligan commended the operating units for the successful operation, reaffirming the police force’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs.
The suspect is currently under police custody and will face charges for violation of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002./PN
