Kyline Alcantara said she is not ready to date again and plans to keep her next relationship private as she focuses on “self-improvement.”
In an interview on “24 Oras” May 22, the Kapuso star shared that she is prioritizing herself for now, instead of entering a new relationship.
“Doon muna tayo. ‘Wag muna, Lord. When I love, I really love a person ’cause I feel like I have too much love to give. So, I just keep on giving and giving and giving, so ako na muna. Sa akin muna lahat,” she said.
Alcantara noted that she is not rushing into love and wants to enjoy more experiences while she is still young.
“It’s a paradox nga whenever I say, I’m still young. I’m still young, so dapat I can experience a lot of things,” she said.
“I’m allowed to fail still, and I’m allowing myself to make more mistakes, but at the same time, I’m still young. I shouldn’t hurry,” added the actress.
When asked if she would consider dating another public figure in the future, Alcantara admitted she is uncertain.
“With a public personality? Hindi ko po alam. Honestly, hindi ko po alam. Depende kung sino ang ibibigay ng ating Panginoong Diyos,” she said.
The 23-year-old actress also reflected on the challenges of having a relationship under public scrutiny.
“Maybe that’s the reason why I’m self-improving ‘cause parang masyado na pong out there. I know that we’re public figures, but we’re not public properties,” she explained.
“Kung may mangyari man in the near future sa aking love life, siguro pang-sa akin lang muna po iyon. Hindi ko na siya ipa-publicize that much,” added the actress.
Alcantara was previously linked to basketball player Kobe Paras. The latter confirmed in November 2024 that they were dating. In July 2025, the actress said that she respects Paras despite their highly-publicized split.
Alcantara is set to star in the upcoming action drama series “Taskforce Firewall,” where she will play Callie Sandoval.
The series also stars Kylie Padilla, Miguel Tanfelix and Jak Roberto, and is scheduled to premiere on May 25 on GMA Network. (Jessica Ann Evangelista © Philippine Daily Inquirer)
