BACOLOD City – A woman listed as the No. 10 most wanted person at the regional level was arrested in a coordinated law enforcement operation in Barangay Bata in this city on June 10, authorities said.
The suspect, identified only by the alias “Kri,” 32, single, unemployed, and a resident of Purok Mahimayaon in the said village, was apprehended through a joint intelligence-driven manhunt operation led by operatives of Police Station 3 of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO).
The arrest was carried out by virtue of a warrant of arrest for 10 counts of qualified theft issued by the court.
Police said the operation was conducted in coordination with the BCPO Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU), the Warrant and Subpoena Section of the Mandaluyong City Police Station, the Eastern District Intelligence Team, and the Regional Intelligence Unit–National Capital Region (RIU-NCR).
Authorities said the suspect was informed of the nature of her arrest and apprised of her constitutional rights in a language she understood before being taken into custody.
Following her arrest, she was brought to Police Station 3 for documentation and processing prior to her turnover to the court that issued the warrant.
Police officials described the operation as a significant accomplishment in the ongoing campaign against wanted persons and a demonstration of the effectiveness of intelligence-based law enforcement operations.
The successful arrest was also credited to the implementation of the SAFE NIR Program, which authorities said continues to serve as a key operational tool in tracking and apprehending fugitives across the Negros Island Region.
The Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) reiterated its commitment to strengthening intelligence gathering and inter-agency coordination to ensure the swift arrest of wanted individuals and the effective enforcement of the law.
Officials said the operation reflects the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies to bring fugitives to justice and maintain peace and order in the region./PN
