BACOLOD City — The Police Regional Office-Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) achieved a major organizational milestone after earning Compliant Status under the Performance Governance System (PGS) and receiving the Gold Eagle Award with an overall rating of 96.03 percent.
The recognition was conferred during the PGS Conferment Ceremony on August 24 at the PNP Multi-Purpose Center, Camp BGen Rafael T. Crame in Quezon City.
The award was formally conferred by Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. and received by PRO-NIR Regional Director Brig. Gen. Romano Cardiño.
PRO-NIR said the 96.03 percent rating reflects the collective performance of its personnel in strengthening governance mechanisms, aligning organizational priorities, establishing measurable performance targets and institutionalizing systems aimed at improving efficiency, transparency, accountability and police service delivery.
The recognition also highlights the regional police office’s efforts to translate its strategic commitments into measurable results through good governance and strategic leadership.
Cardiño said the recognition is both an achievement and a renewed responsibility for PRO-NIR personnel to sustain the organization’s gains and continue improving its services.
“This achievement belongs to every PRO-NIR personnel who has contributed to our journey toward better governance and better police service. The 96.03% rating is both a recognition and a responsibility,” Cardiño said.
He said the award challenges the organization to sustain its accomplishments, address areas for improvement and ensure that its systems ultimately result in meaningful service to the public.
Cardiño also emphasized that the conferment of Compliant Status should not be considered the end of PRO-NIR’s governance journey but a platform for pursuing higher standards of performance and accountability.
The PGS recognition further reinforces PRO-NIR’s commitment to the PNP’s transformation agenda by promoting strategic planning, accountable leadership, innovation and measurable performance as integral components of police operations./PN
