BACOLOD City — A Bacolod vlogger and his live-in partner were arrested in a drug buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Negros Island Region (PDEA-NIR) in Barangay 10, Bacolod City, on August 25.
The operation was conducted at around 3 p.m., resulting in the arrest of the suspects identified by authorities as alias “Jose,” a vlogger and member of the LGBTQ+ community, and alias “Chris.” Both are of legal age and residents of the area.
Authorities identified the two as alleged high-value targets in the illegal drug trade.
PDEA-NIR operatives reportedly seized approximately 50 grams of suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P340,000 during the operation.
The suspects were brought to Police Station 2 and are set to face charges for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
However, both suspects denied involvement in illegal drug activities.
Jose, when interviewed, maintained his innocence and said, “Indi ko ni deserve.”
Meanwhile, Barangay 10 village chief Melvin Bravo said the two suspects were not included on the list of individuals being monitored by the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC).
The suspected illegal drugs were reportedly submitted for laboratory examination as authorities continued their investigation and prepared the appropriate charges against the suspects./PN
